The C257 EQE launched in 2022 as Mercedes-Benz's electric answer to the traditional C-Class luxury sedan.
Development began in 2018 as part of Mercedes' ambitious electrification strategy under its 'Electric First' initiative. The EQE was designed to showcase that electric sedans could offer equal or superior luxury and performance compared to their internal combustion counterparts.
The C257 utilizes the EVA2 (Electric Vehicle Architecture 2) platform, a dedicated EV architecture developed alongside the EQS. This platform provides optimal weight distribution, lower center of gravity, and maximum interior space efficiency.
AMG performance variants were introduced shortly after launch, featuring dual motors, enhanced suspension, and aerodynamic upgrades. The EQE has become instrumental in Mercedes-Benz's transition toward an all-electric luxury portfolio by 2030.
